Who We Are ?
The Bake House is a family owned business that is devoted to its founder Mr. Dayananda Weeraratne’s vision and promise of serving amazing food and exceptional service to all who come through its doors. Since the establishment of our maiden café which then expanded to a restaurant chain and outlets within the Kandy city, we humbly served our purpose across 50 years. We are gratefully delighted that both local and international customers have joined in our culinary history that is unfolding each day.

How We Started
The Bake house was Inaugurated in 1970 on the 7th of August, by our founder Mr. Dayananda Weeraratne. The Bake house has the distinction of being the first bakery in Kandy, and started out by selling small bakery items and cakes, then graduated into a small cafe. We have served well over a million satisfied customers over the years, and today have the pleasure of being associated with great food and an ever widening customer portfolio. Not satisfied with being just a small café we have now expanded into several establishments throughout the city and now have 4 main restaurants in addition to 5 outlets within Kandy city.
